The new year is now just around the corner - it's hard to believe we are almost into 2017! The year goes by so fast and before we know it, Christmas is over and we're already back to work. This can be pretty disheartening, but the start of a new year doesn't always mean doom and gloom. It is also a great time to make new plans and to set new challenges for yourself.
Most of us make at least one New Year's resolution and they can give us the motivation to pursue something for the rest of the year. If you're struggling to think of a resolution to make this year, why not look to your home for inspiration? Unless you've just literally had a remodel, everyone's house could do with a little TLC. Take advantage of the January sales and make the new year the time to do it.

As a blogger, there are many times that I need to print things out, copy sheets and scan leaflets, so that I can get all of my posts written up, as well as doing a lot of the work behind the scenes to make sure everything runs smoothly.
When I had the chance to review the Epson EcoTank ET-3600 I couldn't wait to give it a go as it meant that I could do all of this with one machine, and the fact that it uses less ink was a plus for me.

The countdown has already started, and every single shop is playing Christmas carols - to be fair to them, most shops had started months ago with the carols, but you would have surely noticed. Yet sometimes looking at the calendar is not enough to feel excited about Christmas and get into the festive spirit.
But dont despair: You are not on your own here. Many individuals are too stressed to probably give in to the Christmas spirit. Who can blame you? Theres still a lot of shopping, racing against time, and last-minute work projects to do before you can sit down enjoy your traditional sprouts and bread sauce. Here are a few tips though to help you get into the spirit before its too late. After all, it would be a real pity if you couldnt enjoy Christmas!

However, its always a good idea to update your home when a new baby is coming along. After all, you dont always have the space for another little one straight away. Therefore, here are some home improvements to make when growing your family, and ways to afford them.

As you think about the design for your home, youre probably thinking about the overall look and feel that you want to achieve. When you have that in mind, you want to try your hardest to get every part of the design process to live up to what youve envisioned. Sometimes, it can be hard to make everything stick, and you end up with a space that isnt quite right.
When that happens, you need to take a step back and think about what you can do to put it right. At times like this, more often than not, you can do a lot by changing just a little. Its the same with upgrading your current space. You may not want to undergo a complete redecorating process, but small changes can help you out.

I love clothing for the boys that are different. I don't particularly like to stick to the rules when it comes to clothing and so they regularly wear leggings and even onesies. I think it's great to give them a sense of style from a young age. To let them pick their own clothes and to stand out from the crowd.
When I was introduced to Rockabye Originals, I was in awe of their designs and couldn't wait for our parcel to arrive so I could kit the boys out in some new threads.

As a parent, I don't always have time to go scouring the net to find people and services I need. Take photographing for instance. It's hard trying to find someone local, never mind someone who suits your budget and what you want with the photos.
People have different ideas and so it's great when you finally find that photographer who sees what you see and understands exactly what you want and when you want it.
So, because I've been looking for someone to photograph the kids and was getting no where, I took to Bidvine - which is a website you can use to hire local, trusted service professionals and it's ridiculously simple to use.

Buying a house can often make financial sense, but there are usually things you can do to grow your assets. If youre searching for ways to enhance the value of your home, here are some renovations that are always the hassle.
Extensions
Nowadays, theres a growing market for properties that offer spacious living areas. If you extend your home, you open yourselves up to a larger market, and you can make your home stand out from the crowd. Extending is also a great way of adapting your home to suit the changing needs of your family. If youre preparing to welcome a new baby, for example, you dont always have to consider moving. A single or double-storey extension could provide you with the extra space you require. The profit you could make by adding an extension will vary depending on the build cost, and the sale price. Its always beneficial to get a number of quotes from building firms before you make a decision and to ask estate agents to estimate the difference an extension could make.

Simple (& Affordable) Fixes For A Family Home That Lacks Kerb Appeal

When youve got a family to take care of, your priorities change, and rightly so. Time becomes of the essence, with very little time for yourself, as most of your time is taken up by your little ones. Then theres the fact that as well as a lack of time, you most probably also have a lack of money - raising a family doesnt come cheap.
For these reasons, often when we have a young family and are just beginning to navigate our way through parenthood, our homes suffer. Admittedly, the insides of our homes tend to look picture-perfect - we pay more attention to these as we spend most of our time inside our homes. However, this means that often, the outsides of our homes can be neglected and can lack curb appeal.

Dressing Your Home For Sale: Essential Dos and Donts
When it comes to our homes, there are certain things that we want to take as read. When we move in, we hope that we will live there for some time. We hope that the home will keep us safe and warm for the duration of our residence there. We hope, when we come to move, that we will get more for selling it than we spent buying it. This last one is, of course, subject to market forces. But it is a hope we retain anyway.
If you're planning on selling your home, you need to be approaching the sale with the right attitude in mind. The first and most important thing is getting the house sold at an agreeable price, allowing you to find the best place to move to.

When you own a home, it can be such an exciting thing. You might have grand plans to redesign the home, to make it just as you like it. But what should you get done first? That is a question that youll need to ask yourself. Then you need to think about how to finance it. But as well as a mortgage and the cost of day to day life, some renovations might be put on hold. You might need to put something aside each month to pay for it. But that it fine, as there are plenty of things that are worth saving up for. So here are a few home improvements, that will be worth the wait.

Having 3 children, I am always snapping photographs of them whilst out and about. It's not often I actually have my camera on me though so I opt for the next best thing, my phone. Luckily, phones nowadays are a lot better quality than they used to be and that means that i can get some great shots from the comfort of my phone. I can just point and shoot.
I usually always post these photos to social media as a way that family members can see them easily for updates of our children and it's a great way to store photos. But I like the real thing too. Proper photograph that you can hold in your hands and finger through to look at old memories, fun memories.

Which Is Your Favourite Wildlife Photo?
Being a blogger, I have maybe a few thousand photos sitting in my computer memory just now. That doesn't count the ones in my Dropbox, Cloud storage or my phone. But you will usually find me out snapping something or another.
Wildlife is something that I'm sure everyone loves looking at. Watching a bird fly towards his nest. Seeing the ducks glide along the river. Or even that cute time where you've caught a squirrel playing on the trampoline. Sometimes we actually manage to snap of photo at that exact time and it's great to look on them and show off the magnificent photo that we've shot.
Reality Shows | How Much Are The Celebs Paid?
When it comes to reality shows, I am a lover and a hater. I do like I'm A Celebrity and I sometimes pop in and out of watching Strictly Come Dancing, but I dislike Big Brother and the 'reality' shoes such as TOWIE and Made In Chelsea, they'e not my cup of tea at all.
I think it's down to the fact that I'm A Celeb and such like, have celebrities in the jungle so they're already used to the cameras and how it all works. When it comes to the regular Joe Bloggs, it all seems too much, like they're playing to the camera, and that's what puts me off.

Play Your Way Through The Reality Shows
I don't know about you, but I sometimes watching reality shows with one eye on the screen and the other rolling through Twitter to see how many complaints there are this year.
A lot of it gets very samey, and as soon as a woman takes a shower in I'm a Celeb or a dancer gets a perfect 10 in Strictly, everyone comes out in force to give their opinion on what they're watching.
Sometimes people even tweet if they're not watching it and are just following what's happening through social media. Let's take X-Factor and the whole Honey G drama for instance. The amount of people that I see moaning about her still being in the competition, yet then say how they don't watch the show. Why does it matter so much to you then?

Getting Into The Festive Spirit: How To Give Your Kids The Best Christmas Ever!
Its that time of year again. The kids have started counting down the days until Santa arrives, and parents are frantically trying to get sorted before the big day. If youre eager to give your kids the best Christmas ever, here are some top tips to help you get into the festive spirit.
Decorating your home
Putting the Christmas decorations up is one of the most exciting events of the year in most households. This year, get everyone involved and make a day of it. Head out to the farm or garden centre and let the kids help with choosing a tree. Get the decorations down from the attic, and lay everything out. Put the tree up, and hang baubles together. Put some Christmas music on, and hang lights on the porch outside.
Three Ways Your Can Make Your Home A Better Place In One Afternoon
It would be nice to have a home like those ones in the magazines wouldn't it? You know the ones. They have beautiful furniture, immaculate carpets and not a speck of dust in sight. However, back in the real world we are trying to juggle looking after the kids and being a busy wife with everything else we have to do. So it can be almost impossible to live up to such ideals. But all is not lost!
Maybe it's not practical to have one of those glorious monuments to housekeeping, but there are some things that you can do to improve your home. The best part is they will work even if you have a house full of kids and pets, and they will only take you at most, an afternoon to sort. Read on to find out what they are.

Going out as a family, it is hard to find places that everyone will like and that caters for young and old. And when it comes to having a bigger family, everything gets expensive. So we love to find places that we all love and that are inexpensive to visit.
Enter National Railway Museum which is in York. In fact, it is just behind York railway station so is super easy to get to if you're travelling via public transport. The National Railway Museum is free to get in to although I always think it's polite to leave a donation as they are a national charity and donations help the upkeep of their extensive collections.

I love a deal. In fact, I search the web high and ow before buying anything, just to save those extra pennies. And so when the big offers start rolling in, I'm all over them.

With Christmas around the corner, now are the days that we start to see all manners of new toys coming out, ready for the big day. And basing them around children's television cartoons is the big thing as it means that children get to play with their favourite characters.
My sons adore Miles From Tomorrow and so when they were sent the Miles From Tomorrow Stellosphere Playset they were so excited and couldn't wait to get it set and so they could play with it.

There are a few issues that can stop you in your tracks when you're buying a new home. Indeed, its not always as easy to get on the property market as most people assume. You have to think about whether you can afford to buy, if its the right time and if you can get a great mortgage.
The Right Time?
Generally speaking, the housing marketing goes through highs and lows throughout the year. If you are buying a home for the first time and dont have one to sell look for a slump in the market. This is when house prices crash to their lowest point. If you are currently buying in the UK, youre in luck. Brexit has severely damaged the housing market. But, once article 50 is implemented it could get even worse so you may want to wait.

Bedtime Routines - Putting To Bed The Sleep Myths
Our biggest nightmare over the years has been getting the boys to settle at night when it's still light outside. Couple this with the fact that they have a large window in their room which shines daylight bright both morning and night, it means that sometimes, they will be awake for hours struggling to sleep when the light is peering through.
Getting in to a good bedtime routine is hard enough as it is without adding this to the situation. The bedtime routine can be a nightmare and Blinds-Hut are looking to find out exactly which techniques work when it comes to getting a good nights sleep for mum and children.

It's not often that we go to blogging events as they are usually down London way so when we got an invite to an event, it was nice to see that it was up North for a change and that we could go.
Last week I eventually got to get out and meet some lovely bloggers, when Smiggle had their #SmiggleXmasParty up in Leeds which isn't too far away at all. The Smiggle store is in the Trinity Leeds Shopping Centre in central Leeds, a couple of minute walk away from the train station, so it is super easy to find.

We live in a modern era whereby everything is online now. I mean, when I look back to when I was a teenager, there was no way that I could contemplate that I would be working as an online writer when I was older.
The majority of what we do each day can be done online, from paying bills and playing games, to writing and socialising. We can even order groceries to our door nowadays. But sometimes I do look at myself and realise that I am working online too much, so I take a step back and take a day off. So I can get back into my own life and not this one online.

Getting Christmas Ready with Zeek
Buying for Christmas is one of my favourite things to do. I just love Christmas. I love shopping, wrapping presents and then giving them out and seeing the smiles on peoples faces as they see what they've got.
It can get expensive though and so I try to look around as much as possible to get the best deal. Buying gift cards can be good too as it means that I always have money to spend at a certain store without the actual money burning a hole in my pocket.

As a family of 5, it is hard to find meals that we all like, and to figure out new ways to juzz up old meals to create ones that we all will like. It had ended up with us just eating to same things over and over, stuck in a rut.
So, when HelloFresh got in touch and asked if we would like to try their boxes, I knew that it would be the perfect time to get us all eating new things.
After checking their site, I come to the conclusion that the Family Box would work best for us as it gives enough of each meal to feed 2 adults and 2 children. Well there are 5 of us but J is only small so I was sure that we could make do.

Every year I say this, but Halloween is my favourite time of the year. When children really do get to be kids and dress up in silly costume and get to feast on sweets and goodies. A night where I get to spruce the house up to make it look super scary and horrifyingly haunted.
I just love it. I love the kids that come Trick or Treating and seeing all the terrifying costumes they are wearing, the candles that brightening up the night, I just love it all. Well apart from those clowns that is!
So I wanted to show off what is available this year to make Halloween the most spookiest yet...

Boys and their tools eh! It's like something in their brain, it just clicks and whenever they see a screwdriver they just have to try and unscrew anything and everything in sight. And this is true for my brood. No matter what it is. If it's got a screw in it, it can be fixed.
Because everything is broken according to boys...
And it's not just the handy screwdriver. Anything can be banged if you have a hammer to hand. Anything can be cut if there's a saw nearby. They just love fixing things, and making a noise of course.

I remember the days of having pack ups for school. Soggy sandwiches, crisps and an apple. Not varied at all and after a while, it became very boring to eat every day.
So when it came to the time that my sons started school, I initially wanted them to go on to school dinners but that didn't happen. The fussy little buggers decided that they wanted packed lunches like their friends and the visions of the soggy ham sandwiches cam flooding back like a nightmare.
I said there and then that I would make sure that the boys packed lunches would be better than mine were. That they'd get a varied diet and would love checking their lunch boxes each day to see what they had this time.
